Isola Burano: Island of lace

The island of Burano lies a few miles north and east of  Venice. A small unobtrusive fishing village the house are painted bright colors so the fisherman could find their way home. This island is famous for the beautiful lace work. Almost every where, one can see older ladies working with needle and thread pouring over intricate lace work. Robin and I saw a handmade table cloth that took 2 women over 4 months to create. Simply incredible!
