PD and I came to Korea at the end of August 2001 after we finished our Master's degrees at the University of Arkansas.  PD completed his degree in Electrical Engineering and I finished mine in Sociology.

PD started to work for Samsung Electronics (known not-so-fondly by me as the Borg).  About a week after he started working, he was sent to work on a project in Germany.  I tagged along and had a chance to visit Maggie Dyer and Jason Murphy.  Jason was working on his Ph.D. at the University of Frankfurt and Maggie was studying German. 

I started to work for Home School in March 2002, after an interesting interlude at Ajou University.  In August 2002, Home School embarked on its first American Adventure.
